FAQs

1. What is the best size pot for my tree?

When sizing a pot to a tree, the general guidance is that the pot should be of the same height as the trunk is wide. Make sure to measure the thickest part of the trunk above the surface roots, also known as the Nebari. Based on the rectangular design of Erloom, pots are usually 2/3 of the trees height. However, each tree is one’s own expression so take these guidances as recommendations.

2. Can I construct my Erloom pot by hand?

Due to the design, constructing the pot will require additional tools. There are two sides that need to be gingerly hammered down with a non-metal hammer. Such as a rubber mallet. In doing so, this guarantees the pot to become interlocked and stay interlocked. For further details, please reference the step-by-step construction guide.

3. Can I take my pot apart after it’s been constructed?

If needed, the Erloom pot can be deconstructed through force, however this is not recommended. Due to the minimal tolerances, constant construction and deconstruction could potentially cause fitment issues.

4. Are these made from a sustainable material?

Steel is one hundred percent recyclable. Also, based on the design of the pots, Erloom pots are shipped flat by default (unless otherwise requested). Ultimately reducing our physical footprint, while simultaneously reducing our carbon footprint.

5. Can I request to have my pot constructed for me?

Yes, we are able to pre-construct our pots prior to shipping. However, this may increase the cost of shipping due to the increased size.

6. My pot arrived with various markings, is this normal?

Due to the nature of the machining process, each pot will bare markings on areas where the laser meets the metal as well as potential sanding marks. These markings can show up as a light spray-like texture or a polished texture around key joinery areas. This is perfectly normal and will eventually blend with the material as the pot begins to patina.
